Susan Burnett
Susan first joined Dunfermline Gilbert & Sullivan Society at the age of 15 for the 1985 production of Iolanthe. After a break of ten years doing “no singing at all”, she returned to the company in the chorus of The Mikado. She has appeared in the chorus of Merry Widow, Isobel in Pirates, Lady Saphir in Patience, and again in the chorus of The Gondoliers and La Vie Parisienne. In 2000, Susan ventured into the world of musical theatre and joined Forth Dimension Musical Productions for their production of Oklahoma, playing the part of Laurey. Since then she has played a number of principal roles including Lady Jacqueline in Me & My Girl, Sally Barker in Phantom of the Country Opera, Mabel in Pyjama Game, Doatsey Mae in Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, Adelaide Adams in Calamity Jane and Maggie Jones in 42nd Street. In June 2007, Susan will be playing the Killer Queen in the Scottish Theatre Forum’s production of We Will Rock You. In 2004, Susan joined the cast of Liquid Productions and appeared for 14 performances of Kander & Ebb’s The World Goes Round at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Susan is a playing member of Forth Dimension Musical Productions and Kelty Musical Society. In January 2006 she directed the Forth Dimension Juniors’ production of Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat, a daunting but exciting task. Susan’s beloved Dad, Lenny, who was an active member of the society, sadly passed away in 2003, but would have been proud that his ‘bairn’ was back with the society.
