Robert Douglas Kerr

Robert Kerr started playing the piano at the age of nine and had extensive experience as an amateur oboist in his student days. The harp is a more recent accomplishment. He studied Scottish harp with Alison Kinnaird and is now in demand for wedding ceremonies and receptions.

He has abandoned a career in librarianship to concentrate on his freelance musical activities, Music Optional, and in addition to playing the harp he leads a ceilidh band, Sounds Braw, and also tunes pianos.

He is the Organist and Director of Music at Limekilns Parish Church,  and is currently studying with Brigitte Harris with a view to a diploma in organ playing in due course.

He sang the role of the apostle Paul in No Exceptions! with a new Christian amateur company, ReACT, in 2005, and he wrote the music and lyrics for a musical, Choices, which was performed in March 2006.
